About the Department :-
In the Shia P.
G. College the Department of Physical Education & Sports was established in
01st April, 1975. The Department is under the Faculty of Arts. The course B.A.
Physical Education was started in 29th June, 2019 wide University of Lucknow
order no. R/1073/Affiliation/2019.
The Department has been enriched by the leadership of Dr. Abid Ali Rizvi,
Member of Olympic Indian Hockey team and Dr. Abbas Mohsin Zaidi.
The department was granted by the university grant commission. The department
is also actively engaged in various sports activities like Khateeb-E-Akbar
Moulana Mirza Mohd. Athar Inter Colligiate Cricket Tournament, Shiad Sports
fest who was started in 1984 and Department of Physical Education & Sports
also organized Indo-Pak hockey tournament in 2001.
Vision :-
Department of Physical Education & Sports provide knowledge based dynamic programmes and sports activities and empower youth with increased responsibility for serving the community. All students participate in fitness assessment that provide valuable reflection of past and current ability level in addition to serving as the basis for determining future potential. In this respect, Physical Education & Sports Department will have qualified academic staff members and students both of whom will be capable of using the advanced educational technology to provide maximum opportunities to pupil teachers to attain academic excellence and the faculty to interact at local, national and global level. The department will broaden, enhance and develop its teaching, education and sports activities which are now proper and equal to norms and standards of Indian Universities and U.G.C.

people in order to bring up healthier, happier and more successful people to
the society.

- To conduct activities to inculcate sense of national responsibility, national integration, gender equality, social, moral, spiritual and scientific outlook.
- To enhance global interaction for mutual benefit and exposure.
